Events for Islamic Banking and Finance in English Language:

Islamic Banking and Finance have gained rapid global popularity due to its exponential growth and dynamic standard in addition to the nature of Shari’ah-compliant finance models. Although there are some similarities between them, there are fundamental differences between Islamic and conventional banking practices, such as the Islamic model prohibits interest and operates based on profit sharing whereas the conventional model is debt-based and operates mostly using the interest rate. The Islamic Economics Association (نادي الاقتصاد الإسلامي) plans to promote and spread Shari’ah-compliant finance models by conducting lectures, talks, workshops and trainings in English language which will cover a wide range of areas in Islamic banking, Islamic microfinance, Islamic Insurance, Islamic capital market and Islamic equity market. Other topics of discussion may include the features and Shari’ah principles of Islamic finance; the nature of contracts and, products and services provided by Islamic banking. The association will also focus on arranging series of lectures and talks on some specific topics including Sukuk, retail and corporate banking products, practical contemporary issues, and etc.

We believe that the participants will be able to further understand the core principles and features of Islamic banking and finance, the contracts being used in developing Islamic banking, insurance, microfinance and its other products.
